Richard Rampton, Chairman

Richard has a life-time career devoted to farm management as a practical manager, a teacher and an adviser.  He has practised around the world, across a range of physical and economic environments.  For the past 15 years, Richard has focussed his work in East Anglia, securing more than £25m in public funding and grants for farmers and small businesses in the region.  He has been instrumental in establishing Anglia Rural Consultants as a unique consortium of independent rural business professionals.

Clarke Willis MBE

High profile, credible and respected as a driving force within the food and farming supply chain and with a proven track record for creating growth, Clarke stepped down as CEO of Anglia Farmers Group (agricultural purchasing co-operative) in June 2017 having taken turnover from £35m to £250m since 2003.

 

Graduating from Harper Adams University, Clarke’s career was extensive including farm management, graduate at British Sugar establishing Trident Feeds, CEO of Dengie Crops and MD of Spillers Speciality Feeds.

David Hughes

David is a former Banker with 35 years’ experience in agricultural banking and finance.

 

He was the Regional Agricultural Manager at Clydesdale Bank Plc and the TSB Bank’s Regional Agricultural Manager for East Anglia and the South East.  At Clydesdale Bank he was responsible for attracting new agricultural businesses to the South and East of England and established a team in a new office in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.  He retired from Clydesdale around 5 years ago to establish his own business which raises finance for rural businesses.  He is regularly introduced by banks to their clients to help the financial structure of their business

Emma Powlett

Emma has extensive experience in developing and influencing rural policy in England at a national and local level. She has developed and managed European Rural Development Programmes that have specifically helped agricultural business develop and diversify. Her knowledge and understanding of the public-sector grant system is a strength that has enabled her to support private sector businesses to unlock aid that has led to the achievement of sustainable outcomes and business growth.
